• <br />Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #00 -07 -139 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF JOHN NELSON TO <br />TEMPORARY PUBLIC WORKS LEAD PERSON POSITION <br />WHEREAS, on Aprill 1, 2000, the Council approved the process to appoint a <br />temporary Public Works Lead Person to assist in training and working with seasonal <br />employees through September 2000, and <br />WHEREAS, the position was posted internally through April 25, 2000, and two <br />letters of interest were received and <br />WHEREAS, John Nelson was the only applicant to meet the one year Public <br />Works employment requirement and was recommended by the Parks/Utilities and Streets <br />supervisors. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to appoint John Nelson to the temporary position of Public <br />Works Lead Person effective 4/26/00. <br />2) That with his new responsibilities as a temporary Public Works Lead Person, Mr. <br />Nelson will be compensated by a wage increase of $1.96 per hour through <br />September 2000 and be on probation through September 2000 as well. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Connolly, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Connolly <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />
