St Katharine Drexel is very interested in this reconstruction since we will soon
be building on the property we own on the intersection of Variolite St and 161st Ave. Part of the
report being acted on lists various options. One of the options is for a left turn lane on the north
bound lane at the Variolite and 61st intersection. Since we would anticipate a large amount of traffic
wanting to make that turn prior to any of our services, we very much support the inclusion of a turn
lane or a bypass lane at that intersection. The lane should be large enough for multiple cars. There
should also be a "No Passing on the Right" sign at that intersection to avoid cars using the shoulder
for passing.
We are ready to move forward with the right of way easement that the City requested in order to
facilitate an ADA compliant crosswalk at that intersection.
Deacon Randy Bauer
Pastoral Associate
Church of St Katharine Drexel
7101 143rd Ave NW —Suite G
Ramsey MN 55303
