VARIOLITr Ste' ET RECONSTRUCTION <br />BACKGROUND (cont'd) <br />In 2017, Ground Penetrating Radar data was collected on Variolite <br />Street providing bituminous and aggregate base thicknesses. <br />Variolite Street is a Municipal State Aid (MSA) street and must be <br />reconstructed to MSA design standards, including 9-ton pavement. <br />Drain tile is needed under Variolite Street in one area to properly <br />drain groundwater. <br />Pedestrian crosswalk improvements proposed at 16ist Avenue. <br />Traffic calming improvements proposed on south end. <br />Trunk utility improvements are proposed including replacing <br />existing io-inch trunk sanitary sewer force main with 21-inch <br />gravity trunk sewer, and extending 12-inch trunk watermain to <br />173rd Avenue, as recommended in the 204o Comprehensive Plan. <br />Public comment — Three emails were received since publishing this <br />case and were attached for public record. <br />
