GENERAL CO~ CITIZEN INPUT SURVEY STRElV:T LIGHTS FEBRUARY 1989 We live in River's Bend. It is Bo dark I'm afraid to go walking after dinner. We need lights badly, there are none! One reason why we moved out here is because it is so beautiful and unmarred by city lights. We can Bee the stars at night. Please do not put in city lights where there is any acreage. Costs should be shared equally among all taxpayers or citizens in Ramsey. No street lights! No street lights - it would cost too much - Only one at each intersection. If property owners decide for lighting, yes. Don't want glaring lights in neighborhood - shared by entire City If necessary, if wanted, if given the choice to have the lights, if people are driving at night, they have headlights don't they? If people want them, let them pay for them, don't put them up if people don't want to pay for lights - who's dumb idea was this?, we need street striping!! - no street lights We already have enough security lights to lighten the neighborhood Only when they request should they pay. If only City wants, then City should pay. No other cities charge for street light utility bill. We live on a corner of a development - maybe 40-50 houses. Our intersection is one of 2 streets that go into the development. I don't think we should solely pay for installation for 50 families benefit including visitors. Regarding regular intervals of lights, you may have 5 or 6 houses ... I hope no one is going to put street lights every so many feet by the field or if there is a curve in the road and a street light is not due for that area it goes without. We are new residents of the State. We entertain guests often and it is difficult for them to find our location due to the lack of lights. Also property in our area has been vandalized and stolen. If feel that lights are an important security measure - no matter who pays for them.
