<br />Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #20-071 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FEASIBILITY REPORT AND ORDERING PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #20-01, VARIOLITE STREET <br />RECONSTRUCTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct Variolite Street between Alpine <br />rd <br />Drive and 173 Avenue in 2020; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-219 adopted September <br />10, 2019, the City Council approved and authorized Staff to execute proposals from Hakanson <br />Anderson and Associates for required topographic survey in the amount of $12,800, and from <br />Northern Technologies Inc. for required geotechnical work in the amount of $29,750; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-285 adopted December <br />10, 2019, the City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare a Feasibility Report for <br />Improvement Project #20-01, Variolite Street Reconstruction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the Ramsey Public Works Committee directed Staff to explore options for <br />reducing speeds and improving pedestrian accommodations along Variolite Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />one of the primary purposes of a Feasibility Report is to explore alternative <br />design options and provide recommendations on which options to construct; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the Feasibility Report was received and accepted on April 14, 2020. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) Such improvement is necessary, cost-effective and feasible as detailed in the Feasibility <br />Report accepted by the City Council on April 14, 2020. <br /> <br />2) The City Engineer is hereby designated as the engineer for this improvement, and the <br />engineer is ordered to prepare plans and specifications for the making of such <br />improvements. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Heinrich <br /> Councilmember Menth <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br /> <br />
