Ramsey Fire Department
Report for January-March 2005

Incident Calls

YTD activity is following normal trends with the following monthly breakdowns:

January Calls
Fire Related 30
Rescue/Personal Injury 6

February
Fire Related 9
Rescue/Personal Injury 6

March

Fire Related 28
Rescue Personal Injury 7

Response Notables:

Auto Aid Response
In 2004 the fire department began an Auto Aid response. In brief, Auto Aid response is a
multi-city response (Ramsey, Andover, Oak Grove and Ham Lake) during the hours of
5am until 5pm Monday thru Friday. So far in 2005 Ramsey has responded to 9 calls to
other cities and had 1 call within Ramsey under the Auto Aid response. All cities involved
agree the system is working very well and is truly a benefit to have in place.

Duty Officer Response
Also in late 2004 the fire department began a Duty Officer response for incidents not
requiring a full response by the dept. Calls such as illegal burns, carbon dioxide
detectors, some alarm calls, information calls, etc are responded to by a single fire
department officer. Obviously if more resources are needed the officer responding can
call in additional staff/equipment. YTD thru March there have been 18 Duty Officer calls.
System is working very well and the fire department will continue to utilize this response
into the future.

Burns Township Responses
January had 3 responses to Burns, February none and March had 1 response. Reaction
from Burns Town Clerk is that all seem very satisfied with the service Ramsey provides
to Burns.
