Request for Proposal <br />Playstructure for River's Bend Park <br /> <br />Dear Playground Professional: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey intends to purchase a wood play structure for River's Bend Park in <br />2001, with installation completion no later than May 31~t 2002. The purpose of this <br />correspondence is to solicit proposals from your firm. Ramsey City Council and the Park <br />and Recreation Commission have allocated a total of $50,000 for this project. It is <br />expected that the installation of the equipment will be by contract, and therefore $10,000 <br />has been reserved from above for this purpose. Responders to this RFP should indicate if <br />they or their sub-contractors can not perform the installation [including all costs] for the <br />figure above. <br />As indicated, the playequipment to be purchased should not exceed $40,000, including <br />all taxes, costs and delivery. The vendor should also specify the date when the installation <br />would be completed by. <br />In order to eligible for this competitive process, the vendor must submit detailed <br />drawings, photos, or renderings of their proposal. All information, [including the <br />installation quote], must be received at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW no <br />later than 5pm, November 13th 2001 - with only one proposal per vendor permitted. <br /> <br />The following considerations should guide the development of your proposal and may be <br />used as a checklist for ranking proposals received. The City reserves the right to deviate <br />from the suggestions in any way. <br /> <br /> The wood play structure shouM include: <br />· Slides <br />· Swing <br />· Bridge <br />· Climber <br />· Tunnel <br />A stand-alone swing for older youth, in addition to one associated with the modular <br />structure shouM be considered. <br /> The equipment shouM be targeted for children between 6 and 10 years old. <br />The vertical wood posts shouM be a minimum of 51/4" square, with possibly a preference <br />for round posts ora similar dimension. <br /> The panels' and other colored features may compliment the natural wood theme. <br /> The equipment should not include see-through-bubbles. <br />The equipment must meet Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines at the time of <br />installation as well as ADA. <br /> The treated wood components' must be demonstrated as safe for playground use. <br /> <br /> <br />
