CC Regular Session 5. 11. <br />Meeting Date: 05/12/2020 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #20-093 Hiring a Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to request authorization to hire a Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Worker. <br />Annually, the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, <br />and Utilities Divisions of Public Works. At this time, staff selected one seasonal candidates to work in the Public <br />Works Department. It should be noted that, although the attached job description indicates the hiring range of <br />$11.00 to $12.00 per hour, the City Council approved a new wage scale of $13.00 to $15.00 per hour for seasonal <br />employees, including a .50 cent increase for each returning year. The candidate listed below is returning for his <br />fifth season. <br />Seasonal Public Works Maintenance workers provide general maintenance of streets, park grounds, trails, buildings, <br />and related facilities and equipment through the spring, summer, and possibly fall months. This also includes <br />mowing and trimming; pruning and planting trees or working on landscape projects; maintaining athletic fields; <br />picking up trash; street maintenance; and utilities maintenance. <br />Returning candidates are not required to interview, but are required to complete the rest of the pre -employment <br />testing, which is the case with Mr. Beaver.
