Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #20-104 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR HEDGEHOG <br />STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #19-10 <br />WHEREAS, drainage improvements are needed east of the intersection of Hedgehog <br />Street and 156th Lane NW to contain stormwater runoff within the public drainage easement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer prepared final plans and specifications for re -grading the <br />existing drainage swale along the south property line of 15639 Hedgehog Street to contain <br />stormwater runoff within the existing drainage easements; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-234, adopted September <br />24, 2019, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements <br />for bids for said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-266, adopted November <br />12, 2019, the City Council rejected all bids for said improvements and authorized advertising for <br />bids for said improvements in the spring of 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald and in Finance and <br />Commerce on May 1 and May 8, 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, seven (7) bids were received, opened, and tabulated on May 20, 2020, and <br />the following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and <br />advertisements for bids; and <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br />Dryden Excavating $17,838.30 <br />Minnesota Dirt Works $18,500.00 <br />Meyer Contracting Inc. $30,567.16 <br />Vinco, Inc. $32,915.00 <br />Blackstone Contractors LLC $39,455.00 <br />Sunram Construction, Inc. $43,916.00 <br />Kuechle Underground Inc. $48,944.00 <br />Engineer's Estimate $20,235.00 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Dryden Excavating of Anoka, Minnesota, in the amount of <br />$17,838.30 for the total bid for construction of the improvements in accordance with the <br />approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and <br />their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br />RESOLUTION #20-104 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
