( ;ouncilmember Elvig concurred. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted the consensus of the Council is to eliminate the Planning Commission <br />st~ggestion of the sidewalk intersecting the driveways. <br /> <br />Councihnember Jeffrey asked if there would be a pedestrian connection point next to Unit 17 to <br />mirror the connection by Unit 18. <br /> <br />(;ommunity Development Director Trudgeon replied this would make sense and can be looked <br /> <br />('x)uncilmcmber Strommen expressed concern that the access that would go down to Ramsey <br />Parkway would encourage people to cross Ramsey Parkway away from the comer to get to the <br />s;woosh park. She suggested looking into a pedestrian crosswalk across Ramsey Parkway at the <br />p~int of the pedestrian connection. <br /> <br />As.sJstant Public Works Director Olson indicated staff can look at that possibility. <br /> <br />(;ouncilmember Cook commended the developer on the different facials on the buildings with <br />tim diversity and the different colors. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler indicated he would like it to be on record that more detail is <br />needed about the infiltration basins. He expressed concern if the landscaping will require any <br />iype o1' burning as part of the maintenance. <br /> <br />'l'he consensus of the Council was that staff should draft a policy prohibiting burning in the <br />reside~tial area of Town Center. <br /> <br />Assistant l'ublic Works Director Olson advised the D.R. Horton first phase included rain gardens <br />that thc Council approved, which would test the effect of rain gardens. Staff was informed the <br />plants in th. ese areas would be a water resistant material that could have the character of more of <br />a flowering type plant. <br /> <br />('ouncilmcmber Elvig noted the Council had discussed the rain gardens being of questionable <br />t:£Ibct. Tt~e determination had been to try some out, but not to adopt rain gardens as an overall <br />plan for the ']['own Center. He asked how many rain gardens are currently in effect in the Town <br />Center area. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson replied the rain garden in D.R.
