He informed the residents that an EAW may show <br />lhat there will be more traffic going down the road, which would require it to be improved. <br /> <br />l)ublic Works Director Kapler explained reconstruction will be required on this road, as it is in <br />terrible shape. <br /> <br />2) IJrban Village Tours <br /> <br />(',ity Administrator Norman indicated the Council has received costs by the individual trips to <br />urban villages in Phoenix and Los Angeles, a combined Phoenix and Los Angeles trip, and a <br />one-day lout' of an urban village in Easton, Ohio. <br /> <br />Councihncmber Olson indicated she has visited the urban village in Ohio. It is 1,200 acres of <br />mixed--usc development that is similar to what Ramsey is doing, but with some differences. One <br />~[hing thc Ohio site is doing different is that it is surrounded by big box with parking lots. There <br />arc a couple of large hotel conference centers right in the city center and a big theater. She <br />indicated there is a lot that could be learned from this site. <br /> <br />Mayor (iamec commented air and lodging for a trip to either Los Angeles or Phoenix would be <br />approximately $342 and approximately $379 to visit both cities. He suggested it would be more <br />cost et'/'cctive to visit both cities or to visit Ohio. <br /> <br />'l'he consensus of the Council was to direct staff to proceed with arrangements for an urban <br />village tour to Los Angeles and Phoenix. <br /> <br />(~ouncilmcmbers Jeffrey and Strommen indicated they will be unable to attend the tour. <br /> <br />Mayor (~mnec indicated he will not be attending the tour. He informed the Council that he and <br />the City Administrator have been invited to China in relation to the sister city relationship with <br />I,oudi, China. The trip will be in May and the cost will be approximately $7,500. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated the City has not yet entered into a formal sister city <br />agreement with Loudi, China. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to proceed with formalizing the sister city <br />agreement with Loudi, China. <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson commented on the need to put together a presentation and gift from the <br />CJly o'fRamsey to Loudi, China. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Elvig inquired if the public relations firm has been hired yet. <br /> <br />Cily Administrator Norman responded in the affirmative.
