Councilmember Heinrich introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #20-104 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR HEDGEHOG STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #19-10 WHEREAS, drainage improvements are needed east of the intersection of Hedgehog th Street and 156 Lane NW to contain stormwater runoff within the public drainage easement; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer prepared final plans and specifications for re-grading the existing drainage swale along the south property line of 15639 Hedgehog Street to contain stormwater runoff within the existing drainage easements; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-234, adopted September 24, 2019, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids for said improvements; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-266, adopted November 12, 2019, the City Council rejected all bids for said improvements and authorized advertising for bids for said improvements in the spring of 2020; and WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald and in Finance and Commerce on May 1 and May 8, 2020; and WHEREAS, seven (7) bids were received, opened, and tabulated on May 20, 2020, and the following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and advertisements for bids; and CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID Dryden Excavating $17,838.30 Minnesota Dirt Works $18,500.00 Meyer Contracting Inc. $30,567.16 Vinco, Inc. $32,915.00 Blackstone Contractors LLC $39,455.00 Sunram Construction, Inc. $43,916.00 Kuechle Underground Inc. $48,944.00 Engineer’s Estimate $20,235.00 WHEREAS, the bid of Dryden Excavating of Anoka, Minnesota, in the amount of $17,838.30 for the total bid for construction of the improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted.
