different facility and a van with a turret that gets up high for installing the signs. He stated he
would like to say he will be out of there in three years, but is requesting the full five year
maximum because he cannot honestly predict how fast the business will grow.

Chairperson Nixt stated he does not see this as being a logical fit with a residential area, and
questioned why they moved the business from a commercial area to the pole barn.

Mr. Guzzo indicated it was not started in a commercial area. He stated they operated out of two
locations; his basement and a residential home up north where one of his partners lives.

Commissioner Leeine asked for more information on how they were reducing deliveries to the
site.

Mr. Guzzo stated they do not have a lot of deliveries. He indicated with Gander Mountain' they
had a lot of steel, but most of their metal is will call...He stated most of the signs are made
somewhere else and they put them up, so the signs are brought to the job site and not to the pole
baTM'

Chairperson Nixt asked what the nature of the work being done at the pole barn included.

Mr. Guzzo indicated it is light manufactur/ng.

Chairperson Nixt asked if it would be possible for him to bring the business into compliance with
the number of employees allowed for a home occupation.

Mr. Guzzo stated he has two other partners and one employee. He noted one of the partners is a
salesman, and is out selling most of the time. He added the other employee is a service person,
and only stops to get the truck in the morning and bring it back at night on most days. He stated
they have discussed changing things so that employee takes the truck home with him instead of
coming to his home each day.

Commissioner Watson asked if any chemicals were used on site.

Mr. Guzzo indicated they do a small amount of painting, but, very little.

Commissioner Brauer asked what the business would do if the Planning Commission said no.

Mr. Guzzo stated they are hoping that does not happen, but they would have to look for an off-
site location if it did happen. He indicated he would personally have to come up with the money
because the business does not have it. He stated the business has been good to Ramsey, as they
provided the signs for RYAA. He indicated they put those 'signs up when they are asked, and
store them in their own facility when they are not needed. He added they have provided several
signs for concessions, etc. as well.

P4

Planning Commission/April 7, 2005
