No action is <br />needed at this time. <br /> <br />4) Feasibility Report for Welcome's Road Street Grading and Paving Improvements <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson reported the feasibility report for Welcome's Road Street <br />Grading and Paving Improvements was reviewed with the Public Works Committee. It was <br />indicated the project cost is estimated at approximately $141,000, with the City share at <br />approximately $70,500. The remaining $70,500 would be assessed equally among the 19 <br />benefiting property owners. The City's portion of funds would come from the General Fund. It <br />was also noted that an informational meeting was held with the residents in the fall of 2004 and <br />1:hat a copy of this feasibility report with a letter will be sent to each of the residents on <br />Welcome's Road. The recommendation of the Public Works Committee was that the City <br />CoumSl approve the feasibility report for Welcome's Road Street Grading and Paving <br />improvements and order the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee in Cases 2 through 4 to authOrize staff to <br />ccmtinuc to work with MnDOT to modify the profile of TH 47, and to approve the feasibility <br />repo~ [br Welcome's Road Street Grading and Paving Improvements. <br /> <br />MotiCm carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Cook, Olson, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberJeffrey. <br /> <br />5) Review of 2005 Public Works Objectives'and Work Plan <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler explained the 2005 Public Works Objectives and Work Plan were <br />reviewed with the Public Works Committee. The Committee provided some good ideas. One <br />concern was the level of service to the City. It was stressed that there should not be a reduction <br />in. thc level of service to any portion of the City. There was discussion of the need for water <br />filtration at some point in time. Regarding the Parks Work Plan there was discussion about tree <br />t:onscrvation. Trees will be identified to be saved with developments coming into the City. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig explained the notion was to be more proactive about tree preservation and <br />banki~g the trees for future projects in other areas. <br /> <br />Public; Works Director Kapler indicated this will be incorporated into the subdivision review <br />checklist and will be part of the normal process. <br /> <br />No Council action necessaw. <br /> <br />City Council/March 8, 2005 <br /> Page 17 of 18 <br /> <br />P41 <br /> <br /> <br />
