Fences shall be constructed in a workmanlike manner and of <br />substantial material reasonably suited for its intended purpose. Fencing material shall consist <br />only of wood, chain link, wrought iron, maintenance free vinyl, aluminum, or steel. Any other <br />material must be approved by the Zoning Administrator prior to installation. <br /> <br />SECTION 4 SUMMARY <br /> <br />The ~bllowing official summary of Ordinance #05-__ has been approved' by the City Council of <br />thc City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />it is the intent and effect of Ordinance #05-__ to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 9 (Zoning <br />and Subdivision of Land) Section 9.11.02 (Accessory Structures) to: <br /> <br />Utilize two (2) acres as the threshold for the maximum allowable height of accessory <br />buildings to increase from sixteen (16) feet to twenty-two (22) <br />Allow additional square footage for accessory buildings for properties between 10-19.99 <br />acres, 20-39.99 acres, and 40 plus acres. <br />Limit the number of accessory buildings allowed based on the size of a property. <br />Restrict the height of accessory building sidewalls to ten (10) feet on properties less than <br />two (2) acres in size. <br />Require a zoning permit for accessory buildings that are 120 square feet or less, <br />agricultural buildings as defined in MN Statute 16B.60 Subd. 5, swimming pools and <br />spas not exceeding 5,000 gallons, fences that are six (6) feet or'less in height, ' and for <br />driveways that are not associated with work requiring a building permitl <br />Permit two-story accessory buildings on properties two (2) acres or greater in size by <br />conditional use permit. <br />F~;stablish regulations for swimming pools and spas including setbacks, fencing, noise, <br />lighting, walkway decks, deck drains, and drainage <br />Clarify that only accessory buildings ,that are greater than 120 square feet are used to <br />calculate existing accessory building square footage and toward the maximum number of <br />accessory buildings permitted on a lot <br />Prohibit detached accessory buildings from containing complete independent living <br />thcilities (accessory apartments), which would include permanent provisions for living, <br />sleeping, eating, cooking and sanitation. <br />Include maintenance-free vinyl as an acceptable fencing material. <br />Include language that clarifies that the front yard setback for accessory structures in the~ <br />Rural Reserve and Rural Preserve Districts is 40 feet or same as principal structure, <br />whichever is greater. <br /> <br />SECTION 5 EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />The ~:ffizctive date of this ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject to <br />C; y Charter Section 5.07. <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br /> <br />
