PROPOSED ORDINANCE #05- <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE BUILDING AND <br /> HOUSING CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.21 "SWIMMING POOL AND SPA <br /> PERMTI" OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br /> The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1 AUTHOI~ITY <br /> <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 REPEAL <br /> <br />S ubdivision 2 (Permit and Fee) of Section 8.21.03 (Administration and Permit) and Sections <br />8.21..05 (Setback Requirements), 8.21.06 (Fencing), 8.21.07 (Utility Lines), '8.21.08 (Noise), <br />8 21.09 (Lighting), 8.21.10 (Pool Walkway Deck and Deck Drains), and 8.21.11 (Swimming <br />Pool Drainage) are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 3 AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />Subsection 8.21.01 (Definitions) shall be amended to include the following language: <br /> <br /> Swimming Pool - Shall be defined as any swimming pool, permanent or <br />portable, above ground or in ground, and which is more than twenty-four (24) inches in depth <br />and has a surtb, ce area which exceeds 200 square feet (equivalent of 16 foot diameter pool). <br /> <br />Subsection 8.21.03 (Administration and Permit) shalI be amended as follows: <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Building Permit. Prior to construction of a swimming <br />pot>l or spa having a water volume of 5,000 or more gallons, a building permit issued PUrsuant to <br />the Mirmesota State Building Code shall be required. <br /> <br />5;ubscction 8.21.12 (Electrical Requirements) shall be amended as follows: <br /> <br />8.21.tl5 Electrical Requirements. All electrical installations and current-carrying <br />electrical conductors shall conform to the State Electrical Code and each swimming pool or spa <br />shall receive those permits and inspection as required by the State Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br /> <br />
