Councilmember Specht introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #20-121 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE NAME OF RAMSEY CENTRAL PARK TO FORMALLY BE KNOWN AS ‘LORAL I ARMSTRONG DELANY CENTRAL PARK’ WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ramsey continues to support the development of recreation and public facilities for the betterment of the community and enhancements to the quality of life for all residents; and WHEREAS, the City desires to appropriately name all park facilities in a manner befitting the resource and value to the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey, has adopted a Public Facility Naming Policy within Resolution #20-120; and WHEREAS, that policy may include, park names reflecting historical significance, original landowners, or those reflecting important contributions of local, state, national or international significance; and WHEREAS, Loral I Armstrong Delany embodies these attributes above, is a distinguished and respected pillar of the community; and WHEREAS, Loral I has also made innumerable contributions to shooting sports and recreation locally, as well as bolstering economic development in myriad ways in Ramsey; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That Ramsey’s flagship park on Armstrong Boulevard shall hereby be forever known as, LORAL I ARMSTRONG DELANY CENTRAL PARK. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Musgrove, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor LeTourneau Councilmember Specht Councilmember Musgrove Councilmember Heinrich Councilmember Kuzma Councilmember Menth Councilmember Riley and the following voted against the same: None
