CASE #

CONSIDERATION TO CHANGING REGULAR MEETING DATE
By: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik

Background:

At a previous meeting, the Planning commission by consensus determined that
Thursdays might be a better meeting night for all their respective schedules. City Staff
was directed to research what was required to change the regular meeting night of the
Planning Commission.

Observations:

Section 2.03.03 (Organization, Meetings, Etc.), Section .1 (Regular .and.Special Meetings)
of the Ramsey City Code states that the Commission shall meet regularly at least once a
month at a date and time determined by the Commission. A copy of that section is
enclosed for your information.

It is City Staff' s opinion that the Commission can pass a motion to change their regular
meeting date.

Recommendation:

If the Planning Commission changes their regular meeting date, Staff suggests that it
commence in January 2002. There is a City Newsletter due to be issued the last week of
December and Staff could note the change to the regular meeting date in that publication.

Commission Action:

Motion by and seconded by
meeting date of the Planning Commission to the

to change the regular
of the month.

PC 11.05.01
