Cmmcilmcmber Olson indicated she did review the report that was sent out regarding the sirens, <br />but in thc end analysis she has to trust the recommendation of the Police Chief. <br /> <br />(:~,uncilmember Elvig concun'ed. He indicated there is some discrepancy in what has been <br />i')rc.scnted and il' there is any testing being done he would like to tighten that up. He can <br />apprecialc that thc Police Chief wants to standardize the equipment as much as possible. <br /> <br />(ihairperson Strommen directed Police Chief Way to provide the information from the testing of <br />~hc siren,s to thc Council. <br /> <br />t'()licc ('.bloc Way indicated the information will be distributed the Friday following the first <br />Wednesday el'each month. <br /> <br />(iotmcilmcmber Olson asked how many more siren replacements are needed. <br /> <br />l'r)licc (~hiel' Way replied he would like to see if they could go a couple of years without <br />~'cplacing any sirens. Used parts have been saved from removed sirens for repairs on the existing <br />()IIL.~S. <br /> <br />('ouncilmcmbcr Olson suggested it may not be a good idea to put a project out for bid if it is <br />t!ndtzr thc $50,000 limit and staff plans on staying with a specific brand. <br /> <br />I'inancc ()fficcr Lund explained two to three direct quotations are required for the siren <br />replacements. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihncmber Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to recommend that the <br />('.ily (',ouncil adopt the resolution authorizing the contracted equipment replacement of two <br />(mlclr><>r warning sirens with American Signal Corporation, per the terms and conditions of the <br />conlract. <br /> <br />M~tion c~trricd. Voting Yes: Chairperson Strommen, Councilmembers Elvig and Olson. Voting <br /> None. <br /> <br />Case tt3: 2005 Anoka Aquatic Center Contribution <br /> <br />('hah-pcrs~)n Strommen indicated the Park and Recreation Commission recommended the City's <br />contribution of $4,000 to the Anoka Aquatic Center.
