As part of the study, a Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) will be convened to provide
input and review proposed safety improvements. You have been identified as a potential TAC member. The TAC will
meet (likely virtually) up to three times between July and November.
MnDOT is completing the study on TH 47 to better understand the safety needs and priorities in the corridor in advance
of a medium mill and overlay pavement projects scheduled in the 2025 through 2027 time frame. The study will provide
analysis of existing crash history and safety risk factors along the corridor. Based on that analysis and input from the
TAC, low-, mid-, and high -cost safety improvements will be developed. The anticipated safety benefit of each
improvement will be determined and the concepts will be ranked based on return on investment.
Crash and risk analysis is currently underway, and should be substantially complete prior to the first TAC meeting. An
agenda and a summary of the crash and risk analysis will be provided prior to the first TAC meeting, which is tentatively
planned for mid -July.
If you or a representative are willing to participate in the TAC, please respond to me and cc Jennifer Wiltgen. In late
June a doodle poll will be sent out to all willing TAC members.
Thank you,
Chad Erickson
651-726-5045
370 Wabasha Street North, Suite 300
St Paul, MN 55102
((AL)
1
