CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 08/10/2020 <br />By: Jeff Katers, Police <br />7.2. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Consider Safe Housing, Safe Neighborhoods Policy <br />Purpose/Background: <br />In previous city council work sessions, the City Council asked Staff to look into the Crime Free Multi -Housing <br />(CFMH) program or similar programs that other MN cities have. Staff conducted research and will provide an <br />update to city council on how similar cities have implemented CFMH and other programs. Staff will also discuss <br />the feedback from other cities and recommended resources needed for a program to be successful. CFMH is a <br />national framework that is sponsored by the MN Crime Prevention Association. <br />The City could adopt this program as outlined, or adopt it's own policy using this as a framework. For consistency <br />with the City's Strategic Plan, Staff would recommend naming any policy or program with a focus on Safe <br />Housing, Safe Neighborhoods. <br />Recommendation: <br />No staff recommendation at this time.
