WHEREAS, Governor Walz has issued executive order 81 pertaining to face masks <br />contains five types of exemptions, three of which are governmental exemptions; and <br />WHEREAS, Governor Walz has issued executive order 81 pertaining to face masks <br />contains penalty with financial hardship for individuals and businesses. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That business in Ramsey have struggled in these times of Covid-19 restrictions on <br />businesses and with new mask regulations will have to turn away customers who are not <br />able to wear a mask. <br />2) That Ramsey continue with focus on education of individuals and businesses for safety of <br />all residents regarding social distances, hand washing, and quarantining when experiencing <br />symptoms per individual medical direction. <br />3) That we encourage the Governor to lift his EO regarding wearing masks due to its detriment <br />to Ramsey businesses <br />That business in Ramsey be allowed to post the follow declaration to protect those business <br />customers who are not able to wear a mask <br />5) That the City of Ramsey values kindness and respects the rights of all and treats all <br />residents equally. No person who is unable to wear a mask for medical reasons shall be <br />discriminated against and due to HIPPA and the 4th Amendment cannot legally be asked <br />about their medical condition. <br />6) That all persons within the area of the City of Ramsey limits is encouraged to be considerate <br />of physical distance of at least six feet of separation from non -group members, and <br />regularly sanitize/wash hands. <br />The motion of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilrnember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Resolution #20-163 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
