Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #05-05-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST A TRAFFIC SPEED <br />STUI)Y ON RAMSEY BOULEVARD BETWEEN HIGHWAY 10 AND BUNKER LAKE <br />BOUI.EVARD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Town Center is developing adjacent to this stretch of Rarnsey <br />boulevard and will generate increased traffic; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey Boulevard is being updated from a rural section to an urban <br />section; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, state statutes require that a speed study first be conducted on an urban <br />section of road prior to posting any speed limit other than 30 miles per hour. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />The City Council authorizes the City Engineer to request a traffic study by the Department of <br />Transportation on the segment of Ramsey Boulevard between Trunk Highway 10 and Bunker <br />Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />The City Engineer will report to the City Council the findings of the Department of <br />Transportation. <br /> <br />Thc motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />......... and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the t:ollowing voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the fbllowing abstained: <br /> <br />and thc following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this 12th day of April, 2005. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Ciiy C'lcrk <br /> <br />-121- <br /> <br /> <br />
