The applicant is proposing to operate the outdoor paintball field during daylight hours of 12pm to <br />dusk, Monday through Sunday. The applicant is estimating that no more than twenty (20) <br />customers per day, Monday thru Friday, would utilize the outdoor playing field. On weekends, <br />the applicant is anticipating anywhere from twenty-five (25) to seventy-five (75) customers <br />utilizing the outdoor playing field. <br /> <br />The applicant has stated that customers would have adequate parking space directly behind the <br />building. This area is paved; however, individual stalls are not striped. This same area is used to <br />access the loading docks. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing and reviewed the request for an interim <br />use permit on April 21, 2005. There was no public input at the public hearing~ <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Outdoor commercial recreation uses are not a permitted use in the E-2 Employment District. <br />Addkionally, the 2001 Comprehensive Plan categorizes this property as Places to Work. City <br />Staff and the Planning Commission do not feel that the proposed use is appropriate for an <br />industrial park site and therefore are recommending denial of the request for an interim use <br />permit. <br /> <br />Council Action: · <br /> <br />Motion to adopt findings of fact relating to the request for an interim use permit to establish an <br />outdoor paintball course. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to deny the request for an interim use permit from FSL Paintball Arena, based on the <br />findings of fact. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the request from FSL Paintball Arena for an interim use permit to establish an <br />outdoor paintball course, based on the findings of fact, and adopt a resolution declaring the terms <br />as proposed. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Community Development Director <br />Asst.
