City of Ramsey - Class Specification Bulletin Page 2 of <br />• Must be 18 years of age or older <br />• Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent <br />• Must possess a valid Minnesota Drivers License, with a good driving record <br />• Must be able to show proof of valid automobile insurance <br />• Must have attended the mandatory information meeting on Saturday, February 29, <br />2020, at 9:00 a.m. <br />• Must live in the City of Ramsey <br />• Must pass the 8 Station Physical Agility Test (see test information below) that is <br />scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020 <br />• Must pass a pre -employment work style assessment that is tentatively scheduled <br />for April 17 or April 20, 2020 <br />• Must pass a pre -employment physical and drug screen that is tentatively <br />scheduled for April 27 to April 29, 2020 <br />The 8 Station Physical Agility Test must be completed in seven (7) minutes or less and <br />will consist of the following items: <br />• Fire hydrant operations and connections <br />• Lifting, carrying and climbing a ladder <br />• Crawling 12 feet under a low structure <br />• Lifting and carrying a five gallon bucket weighting approximately 45 pounds <br />• Raising and lowering a 2-fly extension ladder in a controlled hand -over -hand <br />method <br />• Carrying a modified high rise hose bundle up two flights of stairs <br />• Swinging a 10 pound sledge hammer onto a wooden simulator <br />• Dragging a 185 pound mannequin 50 feet <br />ESSENTIAL )OB FUNCTIONS: <br />Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: <br />• Respond to emergency incidents within assigned station, meeting the minimum <br />participation requirements <br />• Perform firefighting activities in accordance with N.F.P.A. Standards, including <br />driving fire apparatus, operating pumps and related equipment, laying hose, <br />performing suppression, ventilation and overhaul tasks <br />• Perform activities related to technical rescue, emergency medical services, and <br />hazardous materials response <br />• Participates in required weekly training drills, department meetings, committee <br />and community activities, and other required training activities and meets <br />minimum participation and competency verification requirements <br />• Participates in the general maintenance of department facilities and equipment in <br />accordance with department procedures, such as clean and wash station facilities <br />and equipment; care for grounds around station; wash, hang, and dry hoses; <br />wash, clean, inspect and maintain apparatus and equipment <br />• Participate in public presentations of department programs and activities, related <br />to safety, medical and fire prevention topics <br />https://agencysgovemmentjobs.comicityoframseyidefault.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassS... 2/20/2020 <br />
