City of Ramsey - Class Specification Bulletin Page 2 of • Must be 18 years of age or older • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent • Must possess a valid Minnesota Drivers License, with a good driving record • Must be able to show proof of valid automobile insurance • Must have attended the mandatory information meeting on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. • Must live in the City of Ramsey • Must pass the 8 Station Physical Agility Test (see test information below) that is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020 • Must pass a pre -employment work style assessment that is tentatively scheduled for April 17 or April 20, 2020 • Must pass a pre -employment physical and drug screen that is tentatively scheduled for April 27 to April 29, 2020 The 8 Station Physical Agility Test must be completed in seven (7) minutes or less and will consist of the following items: • Fire hydrant operations and connections • Lifting, carrying and climbing a ladder • Crawling 12 feet under a low structure • Lifting and carrying a five gallon bucket weighting approximately 45 pounds • Raising and lowering a 2-fly extension ladder in a controlled hand -over -hand method • Carrying a modified high rise hose bundle up two flights of stairs • Swinging a 10 pound sledge hammer onto a wooden simulator • Dragging a 185 pound mannequin 50 feet ESSENTIAL )OB FUNCTIONS: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Respond to emergency incidents within assigned station, meeting the minimum participation requirements • Perform firefighting activities in accordance with N.F.P.A. Standards, including driving fire apparatus, operating pumps and related equipment, laying hose, performing suppression, ventilation and overhaul tasks • Perform activities related to technical rescue, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials response • Participates in required weekly training drills, department meetings, committee and community activities, and other required training activities and meets minimum participation and competency verification requirements • Participates in the general maintenance of department facilities and equipment in accordance with department procedures, such as clean and wash station facilities and equipment; care for grounds around station; wash, hang, and dry hoses; wash, clean, inspect and maintain apparatus and equipment • Participate in public presentations of department programs and activities, related to safety, medical and fire prevention topics https://agencysgovemmentjobs.comicityoframseyidefault.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassS... 2/20/2020
