<br />Councilmember Menth introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # 20-183 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE PAID-ON-CALL FIREFIGHTERS <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, over the last several months there have been several Paid-on-call Firefighters <br />that have separated from the Fire Department due to retirements and other reasons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, staffing levels in the Fire Department are less than full capacity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, a recruitment was conducted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, an informational meeting, firefighter interviews, background checks, <br />reference checks, physical agility tests, work-style assessments, and pre-employment physicals <br />and drug screens have been conducted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, all candidates have successfully passed the requirements to become Ramsey <br />Paid-on-call Firefighters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />Paid-on-call Firefighters are subject to a 1-year probationary period; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the funding to hire the above mentioned firefighters is included in the 2020 <br />budget. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />1) Motion to approve resolution #20-183, hiring Mr. Curtis Forster, Mr. Jake Henninger, <br />Mr. Steven Marquette, Mr. Jamey McPheeters, Mr. Jacob Moeller, Mr. Jack Oliverius and <br />Mr. Justin Petrick as Paid-on-call Firefighters at $12.88 per hour, effective August 26, 2020 <br />as Paid-on-call Firefighters, effective August 26, 2020 at $12.88 per hour. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Menth <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />
