Equipment Performance <br />The equipment held up well this year, with only one major breakdown early in the year. <br />In previous years we had experienced transmission problems on some of the cul-de-sac <br />trucks. Thankfully, this was not the case this year. <br /> <br />Break down of complaints <br />We as a department received 137 phone calls on our snow plowing operations this <br />season. It is our policy to return all phone calls, or talk to the residents in person, if that's <br />what they request, about damage and other concerns. <br /> <br />The ratio of complaints from residents living on streets or cul-de-sacs was the following: <br />33% fi'om residents living on cul-de-sacs <br />67% from residents living on streets <br /> <br />The majority of calls were as follow: <br />Sod Damage-27% <br />Mail Box Damage-7% <br />Request for Sand-19% <br />The remainder of the phone calls consisted of such things as snow in front of mailboxes, <br />snow in driveways, drifting snow, roads not plowed and etc .... <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />No action required. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Director of Public Works <br />City Engineer(s) <br /> <br />P.W.: 04/17/01 <br /> <br /> <br />
