Olson, City Engineer

Background:

On February 15, 2000, the Public Works Committee directed Staff to bill residential properties
that operated businesses on their homestead 50% residential and 50% commercial.

Observations:

During the processing of the pre-application for the credits available for the storm drainage
utility, Staff has identified a number of properties that would qualify for this method. The
properties that would be affected would be:

· Ken Niles property
· Stanley Welsh property
· Armstrong Kennels
· Larry Plessel
· New Song Church
· Lord of L~fe Church
· Green Valley Greenhouse
· Gary Reiman

I am sure that there are other properties that are affected by this policy, however, these are the
properties that have applied for the credits and apply.

I have attached a copy of the minutes from the February 15, 2000, Public Works Committee
meeting for your review.

Committee Action:

Motion to reaffirm the calculation of residential \ commercial properties as stated in the February
15, 2000 Public Works Committee meeting.

Reviewed by:
City Administrator
Director of Public Works

PW: 7/16/01
