<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #20-196 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR THE METROPOLITAN <br />COUNCIL’S FISCAL YEAR 2022 – 2023 CLEAN WATER FUND REQUEST <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, a sustainable supply of clean water is fundamental to the prosperity and <br />quality of life throughout the Twin Cities region, including the City of Ramsey; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, every sector of the Twin Cities region relies on water including commerce, <br />manufacturing, construction, health care, recreation, and agriculture; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />over the past ten (10) years, the Metropolitan Council has received funding <br />from the Clean Water Fund to support two programs that assist communities in the Twin Cities <br />region to achieve sustainable water supplies including the Metropolitan Area water supply <br />sustainability support program, and the water demand reduction grant program; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, pursuant to Resolution #18-217, adopted by the Ramsey City Council on <br />October 23, 2018, the City of Ramsey partnered with the cities of Corcoran, Dayton and Rogers <br />to prepare a Feasibility Study to explore alternatives and costs for a regional surface water <br />supply system in the northwest metropolitan area, which is being funded by the Metropolitan <br />Council through the Metropolitan Area water supply sustainability support program using Clean <br />Water Funds; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, pursuant to Resolution #20-018, adopted by the Ramsey City Council on <br />January 28, 2020, the City of Ramsey entered into a Clean Water Fund Grant Agreement with <br />the Metropolitan Council to accept a $28,000 grant to implement a water efficiency rebate <br />program, which is being funded by the Metropolitan Council through the water demand <br />reduction grant program using Clean Water Funds; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, the City of Ramsey desires to continue benefiting from these programs in <br />the future as the City strives to use water more efficiently. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) The City of Ramsey respectfully requests that the Clean Water Council fully support the <br />Metropolitan Council Fiscal Year 2022 - 2023 Clean Water Fund funding request. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
