Case #l 6: Report from the Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Authorize Hiring of Crime Prevention Specialist <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson stated that on December 12, 2000, staff received authorization to begin <br />the process to recruit and hire a full-time Crime Prevention Specialist. The position was posted <br />internally on December 28, 2000, for a period of seven business days. Staff recommended the <br />hiring of Chandra Kreyer at an annual salary of $31,200, with a six-month probationary period. <br />Ms. Kreyer has already successfully completed the required background checks and employment <br />physical and drug screen <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to authorize the <br />hiring of Chandra Kreyer for the position of Crime Prevention Specialist at an annual salary of <br />$31,200 with a six month probationary period. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Kurak, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #17: Report from the Finance Committee <br /> <br />2) Review and Adopt 2001 Enterprise Fund Budgets <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Anderson, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to table action <br />until January 26, 2001. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Zimmerman, Kurak, <br />and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Review and Adopt 2001 Economic Development Authority Operating Budget <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund presented the Council for their review and consideration the 2001 <br />Proposed Economic Development Authority Budget. The financing source for these operations <br />is solely interest earnings. Tax increment interest earnings were previously allowed to be <br />transferred as a funding source, but legislation changed the laws in 1998. This budget includes <br />expenditures for salary costs of various levels of City staff, professional services for outside <br />consulting services such as those offered by Mike Mulrooney and allowances for economic <br />development programs including participation at the annual Game Fair, business expo, annual <br />business appreciation day, and entry signs into the City. This is primarily a "housekeeping" item <br />and is done on an annual basis. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to adopt Resolution #01-01-015 <br />Adopting the 2001 Economic Development Authority Operating Budget. <br /> <br />City Council/January 16, 2001 <br /> Page 6 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
