Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #20-214 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR 5751 <br />164TH LANE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #19-17 <br />WHEREAS, drainage improvements are needed to prevent stormwater runoff from <br />leaving the public drainage ditch north of 164th Lane and flowing across the private property at <br />5751 164th Lane NW before discharging into the pond on the north side of said property; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed drainage improvements are contained within the public right- <br />of-way for 164th Lane, and within certain public drainage easements, and will prevent <br />stormwater runoff from flowing across said private property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer prepared plans for the purpose of soliciting quotes for <br />5751 164th Lane Drainage Improvements, Improvement Project #19-17; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 18, 2020, the Public Works Committee unanimously adopted a <br />motion to recommend City Council approval of said plans and authorization to solicit Requests <br />for Quotes for said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #20-176, adopted August 25, <br />2020, the plans prepared by the City Engineer for the making of said improvements were <br />approved, and solicitation of Requests for Quotes for said improvements were authorized in <br />accordance with the approved plans and specifications; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 26, 2020, Requests for Quotes were submitted to three <br />contractors, and on September 10, 2020, the following quote was received from Dryden <br />Excavating, Inc. for said improvements, and upon opening and tabulating the quote it was found <br />to comply with the Request for Quotes; and <br />Contractor <br />Total Quote <br />Dryden Excavating, Inc. <br />$ <br />22,827.78 <br />Engineers Estimate <br />$ <br />23,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, on September 15, 2020, the Public Works Committee unanimously adopted <br />a motion to recommend that the City Council accept the quote and award a construction contract <br />to Dryden Excavating, Inc. for said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the quote of Dryden Excavating, Inc. of Nowthen, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $22,827.78 is in accordance with the approved Request for Quotes and their quote <br />shall be and hereby is accepted. <br />RESOLUTION #20-214 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
