CASE # 4 <br /> <br /> EDAM Participation <br />By: Scan M. Sullivan, Economic Development / TIF Specialist <br /> <br />Backgro.nd: <br /> <br />Stal't' currently has two members that are a Part of the Economic Development Association of <br />Minnesota (EDAM). EDAM is an organization that allows members to gather and exchange <br />ideas with all people involved with economic development. This group has a monthly Third <br />ri'hursday event as well as two biannual conferences in which economic topics are discussed. <br />Stat'l' has fi)und these events and conferences to be quite helpful in regards to gaining new <br />perspectives and more education in economic development. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Our pr~:scnt I';DA has been very active on the development front and has been dependent on Staff <br />t,~ keep them abreast o~' the current economic environment as well is pertinent laws. changes <br />~'etcvant to economic development. Staff is interested to see if the EDA would like to participate <br />in some oi' the events throughout the year. Attached to this case is a brochure for the Summer <br />Conlkrcnce as well as this month's Third Thursday event. Staff does not attend all events but <br />dotes try t~) make ones that are related to our current positions.
