Associate Planner Wald reviewed the items on the agenda <br />r~ t~ tlm April 7th and April 21 ~t Planning Commission meetings. <br /> <br />l~;conom ic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan indicated FSL Paintball Arena is requesting an <br />interim usc permit to establish an outdoor playing field 100 by 150 feet. He would like the EDA <br />io comment on whether this is something that is desired in the industrial parks. Associate <br />Planner Wald explained the owner of this property has a conditional use permit to have more <br />(>utsidc storage than City code allows, so there already are lot of things on the property. The <br />,)wtmr thinks the paintbatl would a niche that would bring his business forward. However, <br />during the conditional use permit process staff informed the property owner they did not want to <br />:gee anything else on the property due to concern about the amount of outdoor storage on.the <br /> <br />Motion by Member Gromberg, seconded by Acting Chairperson Steffen, to recommend that an <br />outdot)r paintball field is not a compatible use in the industrial parks. The City has spent a great <br />deal o1' t/me, effort and money cleaning the industrial parks up and an outdoor paintball field <br />w~mld b,z a non-conforming use. <br /> <br />Moti(m carried.
