Committee Input (2ouncihnember Strommen indicated Councilmember Elvig provided an update of the tour with Moody'~ this morning. Cou~-~cilmernber Elvig stated he attended the tour of the City with staff and Moody's this morning. The tour was positive and staff should have a response from Moody's tomorrow m~)rning regarding the tour. Case #18: Report from Public Works Summary for 2004-2005 Snow Removal Season l)ublic Works Director Kapler reported the City had four major.plowing events in the 2004-2005 sm)w ~'emoval season and 20 minor events. The first full scale plowing operation was on January 13, 20©5. This winter the City lost its oldest piece of snow fighting equipment due to mechanical taih~rc~ Duc to the cost of the repair and the age of the equipment the motor grader was retired. Stall' will be looking at some type of equipment rental agreement for the' next season, and ~:~entt~al replacement in the near future. He reported Public Works staff met last week to discuss capital equipment ptmming, and with the miles of road being added in the City another plow route will need to be added soon. Public Works staff continues with the priority school walking ×one wi th the same priority as streets, which worked very well. Mayor Game asked il' sod and mailbox damage is due to staking. }'ublic Works Director Kapler replied it likely has an impact, but the big portion of the damage is probably due to there not being a heavy snow before the ground froze. He indicated Public Works stal'f continues to try to eliminate all mailboxes in cul-de-sacs, and there are less than 20 rcma~ining, lie commended Street Supervisor Reimer for his work in keeping the road clear in lhc winler.
