In her tenure at URS,she has
been involved in noise and air quality analysis projects and transportation
planning projects with a focus on travel demand modeling and transit
forecasting.
Project Specific Experience
Years of Experience Travel Demand Modeling/Transit Forecasting
With URS: 5 Years Ms.Parthasarathi's experience in travel demand modeling includes
developing models, applying models to analyze different roadway, land
Education use and transit scenarios and conducting traffic impact studies using
Enrolled PhD/Civil various industry standard packages like TRANPLAN, CUBE,TransCAD
Engineering/University of and ArcMap.
Minnesota/2004—present
MS/Civil Engineering/University She has worked on the St.Joseph regional travel demand model,MO;
of Minnesota/2001 Twin Cities HOV simulation project,MN;TH55 Travel Demand
Forecasts and Alternatives Comparison,MN;Decatur Travel Demand
BS/Engineering/Anna University, Forecasting Model Update,IL. She assisted in the development of the
Chennai,India/1)99 travel demand model for the Ozarks Transportation Organization
Registration/Certification Planning Area,MO. She was also involved in conducting a long range
Professional Engineer/Minnesota/ traffic impact study for the proposed Springfield Underground West
44299 Property development in the City of Springfield,MO.
She recently developed a travel demand model for Anoka County,MN
using CUBE and used the model to analyze different transportation and
land use scenarios within the county. She is currently working on the
travel demand model update for St. Clair County,MI using the
TransCAD software platform,as part of the St. Clair County Travel
Demand Model and Long Range Transportation Plan Update for
SAFETEA-LU compliance.
Some of her representative transit projects include the Southwest
Corridor Rail Transit Study,MN;Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit Study,
MN and the 35W Bus Rapid Transit Study,MN. Ms. Parthasarathi's role
in these projects was to use the multi-modal travel demand models (Twin
Cities Regional model,Dakota County Travel Demand model) to predict
the expected ridership for proposed transit alignments/transit
technologies and help evaluate the various alternatives to identify a locally
preferred alternative.
She is currently involved in the Detroit Transit Options for Growth Study
(DTOGS)with the Detroit Department of Transportation,MI. The
study area includes the cities of Detroit,Dearborn,Hamtramck and
Highland Park and the focus of this study is to look at the implementation
of rapid transit alternatives to improve access and mobility in the study
