S. 3021-17 <br />(B) by striking the period at the end and inserting <br />" ; and"; and <br />(C) by adding at the end the following: <br />"(B) select not fewer than one project to be carried <br />out on a reservation (as defined in section 3 of the Indian <br />Financing Act of 1974) that serves more than one Indian <br />tribe (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self -Determina- <br />tion and Education Assistance Act).". <br />SEC. 1132. REHABILITATION OF CORPS OF ENGINEERS CONSTRUCTED <br />DAMS. <br />Section 1177 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016 <br />(33 U.S.C. 467f-2 note) is amended— <br />(1) in subsection (e), by striking "$10,000,000" and inserting <br />"$40,000,000"; and <br />(2) in subsection (f), by striking "$10,000,000" and inserting <br />"$40,000,000". <br />SEC. 1133. COLUMBIA RIVER. <br />(a) BONNEVILLE DAM, OREGON.— <br />(1) IN GENERAL. —The Secretary, in consultation with the <br />Secretary of the Interior, shall examine and assess the extent <br />to which Indians (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self - <br />Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C. 5304)) <br />have been displaced as a result of the construction of the <br />Bonneville Dam, Oregon, as authorized by the first section <br />of the Act of August 30, 1935 (49 Stat. 1032) and the first <br />section and section 2(a) of the Act of August 20, 1937 (16 <br />U.S.C. 832, 832a(a)). <br />(2) INCLUSION. —The examination and assessment under <br />paragraph (1) may include assessments relating to housing <br />and related facilities. <br />(3) ASSISTANCE. —If the Secretary determines, based on <br />the examination and assessment under paragraph (1), that <br />assistance is required or needed, the Secretary may use all <br />existing authorities of the Secretary, including under this Act, <br />to provide assistance to Indians who have been displaced as <br />a result of the construction of the Bonneville Dam, Oregon. <br />(4) TRIBAL ASSISTANCE. —Section 1178(c)(1)(A) of the Water <br />Resources Development Act of 2016 (130 Stat. 1675) is amended <br />by striking "Upon the request of the Secretary of the Interior, <br />the Secretary may provide assistance" and inserting "The Sec- <br />retary, in consultation with the Secretary of the Interior, may <br />provide assistance". <br />(b) JOHN DAY DAM, WASHINGTON AND OREGON.— <br />(1) IN GENERAL. —The Secretary, in consultation with the <br />Secretary of the Interior, shall examine and assess the extent <br />to which Indians (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self - <br />Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C. 5304)) <br />have been displaced as a result of the construction of the <br />John Day Dam, Oregon, as authorized by section 204 of the <br />Flood Control Act of 1950 (64 Stat. 179). <br />(2) INCLUSION. —The examination and assessment under <br />nnrorrronh (1 ) yr. 011111 - <br />
