5.1.3 <br />5.1.4 <br />The Metropolitan Council generally describes the productivity of the Tunnel City - Wonewoc <br />Aquifer as variable. Yields tend to be moderate to row with some of the highest yields reported <br />where bedrock units are highly fractured. <br />Mt. Simon -Hinckley Aquifer <br />The Mount Simon -Hinckley Aquifer is generally described by the Metropolitan Council as a high <br />to moderate yield aquifer. New high capacity wells are generally not permitted by the Minnesota <br />Department of Natural Resources as use has been restricted by Minnesota Law, therefore it is <br />not discussed in this report in greater detail. <br />Ramsey Municipal Wells <br />The City of Ramsey wellfields are comprised of 8 wells. Wells 1 and 2 are located in the <br />southeastern portion of city limits, while Wells 3 - 8 are located in the south central portion of the <br />City. The City of Ramsey current receives all of its potable water from the Tunnel City-Wonewoc <br />aquifer_ The well locations are depicted on Figure 1 in Appendix D. AEI of the City of Ramsey wells <br />are considered high capacity wells with an approved MnDNR appropriation permit.
