It
was determined that a 3.2 acre site would be sufficient for the water treatment plant and a future
expansion to 20 MGD. Portions of the water treatment plant would be constructed on the existing
City -owned Fire Station property.
Raw Watermain and Costs — Fire Station Site
The raw watermain required to construct a water treatment plant at the Fire Station Site is shown
on Figure 2 in Appendix I. The water main and site acquisition costs are included in Table 10-1.
Because the Fire Station Site is remote from other City garage facilities, it is assumed that a
water treatment plant garage is needed.
Table 10-1 - Fire Station Site Costs
Est.
Item Unit Unit Price
Quantity
Cost'
24" Raw Watermain
LF
4,350
$250
'
$1,088,000
124" Road Crossing
(Jacking)
LF
,
200
$1,000
'
$200
000
12" Raw VVatermain
LF
1,850
$100
$185
000
Land Purchase
Lump Sum
1
$500000
$500
000
VVTP Garage
Lump Sum
1
$1,280,000
$1,280
000
Total
$3,253
000
1 Costs are for comparison of alternatives and are not meant to represent the full project costs.
Public Work Site
The City is in the process of constructing a new Public Works Building on the 19_9 acre Public
Works Site shown on Figure 1 in Appendix I. The new Public Works Building will encompass the
southern 13 acres of the property, leaving approximately 7 acres of and on the north side of the
Public Works Site for a new water treatment plant.
Raw Watermain and Costs — Public Works Site
The raw watermain required to construct a water treatrnent Want at the Fire Station Site is shown
on Figure 3 in Appendix I. The water main costs are included in Table 10-2. Because a new
Public Works building is being constructed on the Public Work Site, it is assumed that a new
garage is not needed with the water treatment plant.
Fire Station Site Costs
Est.
Quantity elillit P
Cost'
24" Raw Watermain
LF
5,900
$250
, $1,475,000
24" Road Crossing
(Jacking)
LF
200
$1,000
$200,000
FEASIBILITY STUDY -DRAFT
Page 34
RAMSY 154354
