ORDINANCE #20-19 <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 34 OF THE CITY CODE: <br />"OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS," <br />GOVERNING THE USE OF FIREARMS, BOWS AND ARROWS. <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br />SECTION 1. PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this Ordinance is to streamline the process for hunting within City limits <br />by eliminating the firearm and bow and arrow permit processes and setting forth the <br />circunistances under such weapons may be used for hunting. <br />SECTION 2. AUTHORITY <br />Pursuant to authority granted by Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.633, the City of <br />Ramsey hereby regulates the use of firearms and bows and arrows for hunting within City <br />limits. <br />SECTION 3. AMENDMENT TO CITY CODE SECTION 34-21 <br />(Underline is added language, strikeout is deleted language.) <br />Sec. 34-21. - Weapons. <br />(a) Definitions: The followin definitions y in the interpretation and <br />enforcement of this section: <br />(1) BOW: All bows_used for target and hunting purposes as regulated and defined <br />by Minnesota Statutes Chapter 9713. <br />(2) FIREARM: Means a gun that dischar Je s shot or a oroiectile b means of an <br />explosive, a gas. or compressed air. <br />(3) HANDGUN: A weapon desimed to be firedf a singlc hapd and <br />with an overall length less than 26 inches, or _havingabarrel or barrels of a <br />length less_ttuln 18 inches in the case of a shotgupoi having a barrel of a length <br />less than 16 inches in the case of a rifle (1) from which my1::fired or ejected <br />one or more solid projectiless of a cartridge or shell or by the action <br />of an ex )losive or the i offlammable mb1explosive substances. or 2) for <br />which the propelling force is a spring carbon dioxide air or other <br />gas, or vapor. <br />
