BOARD OF REVIEW <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a Board of Review meeting on Wednesday, April 11, 2001, <br />in the Council Chambers of the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Anoka County (City of Ramsey) Assessor Don Lovstad <br />Anoka County Assessor Janene Hebert <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Board of Review to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec explained the Board of Review process and introduced the assessors from Anoka <br />County. <br /> <br />BOARD OF REVIEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Richard Aberlie, 17290 Germanium Street NW, Ramsey, expressed concern about the steady <br />increases in his property valuation, especially since nothing had changed other than his building <br />another garage. His value has gone up 2%, 2.8%, 5.2%, 14.5 (built garage), and now 18% - and <br />that is with no improvements made. He has spoken to the County already. Since 1994, when he <br />occupied the house, his valuation went from $138,000 to $229,900. <br /> <br />Assessor Lovstad explained that when Mr. Aberlie's property was first valued, it was without a <br />finished basement, and when the Assessor was able to get into the house in 1999, it was noted <br />the basement was finished, therefore, the property valuation went up. <br /> <br />Board of Review- April 11, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
