COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> Project <br /> Comprehensive Plan 2006 <br /> Location/Client <br /> AU <br /> s �, , 1 Chisago City, MN <br /> r't 4tt3 <br /> Date <br /> June 2005 —August 2006 <br /> a ;_ <br /> Project Descriptions <br /> ` ` The Chisago City Comprehensive Plan was prepared to address <br /> ' `'=' extensive growth and development pressure occurring in Chisago City. <br /> In response to such pressure the community decided to update their <br /> ComprehensivePplan to ensure that development in the community was <br /> ' desirable and sustainable. Some of the most significant issues in the <br /> community included thedegradation of natural resource,affordable housing, <br /> = ` s and the diminishing small town feel. As a community with extensive natural <br /> resources and lakes, it was integral to the planning process to develop a <br /> protection and integration plan that would focus on conservation design. <br /> Chisago City applied for, and received, grant money from the Greater <br /> _ Minnesota Housing Fund to develop a Comprehensive Plan that <br /> would focus on conservation design, affordability and long-term <br /> sustainability. The Project Team consisted of GMHF, DSU/Bonestroo, <br /> Applied Ecological Services (AES) and the City. The Project Team <br /> worked diligently for approximately a year with the community to <br /> develop a plan that was environmentally conscientious, focused on <br /> natural resource preservation, sustainability, and housing choices. <br /> Ultimately the plan was adopted by the City Council in August of 2006. Ms. <br /> Haskamp facilitated the process,prepared thefinal document and ultimately <br /> worked with the community on implementation steps priorto leaving the firm. <br /> Cost and Scope <br /> Approximately $100,000 - Preparation of Comprehensive Plan, <br /> management of sub-consultants as well as overall process and project <br /> team. <br /> —' Specific Services <br /> Project work was performed by Ms. Haskamp while at a previous <br /> employer, DSU/Bonestroo <br /> alk <br /> z <br /> — v <br /> LL <br /> 0 <br /> Q <br /> LANDFORM <br />
