COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
CITY OF RAMSEY
Given the very rapid growth which Shakopee has experienced and
anticipates into the foreseeable future, the City directed WSB to prepare
a comprehensive update of the 1998 document. This update is currently
being finalized. It was developed using TP+Viper, a travel demand
software package, to project 2030 traffic volumes. WSB worked with
generalized planning data and information from the Shakopee Planning
Department to develop demographic inputs for Travel Analysis Zones
(TAZs) for the transportation model. The traffic forecast results have
been used to help identify future roadway network improvement needs
to serve Shakopee plus Louisville and Jackson Townships west of the
City. Area studies and evaluations were performed as part of the recent
Shakopee work and have been incorporated into the Transportation
Plan. Roadway design standards and access management guidelines
have been established in the project. WSB and the City have solicited
input from Scott County on the planning work, and have carefully
incorporated County issues and comments into the current document.
Bruce Loney, PE
Director of Public Works
City of Shakopee
952-233-9361
BLoney@ci.shakopee.mn.us
Rosemount Transportation Plan, Rosemount, MN
WSB prepared a Western Rosemount Transportation Plan in 1995,
addressing the portion of the City with the most significant development
and associated urban transportation issues. As part of the City's
Comprehensive Plan Update, WSB is currently finalizing an updated
comprehensive Transportation Plan. Rosemount is experiencing rapid
growth which must be supported with an effective transportation
network. The Transportation Plan incorporates the results of the "42/52
Study." For this study, WSB contributed recommendations for roadway
needs associated with the future reconstruction of the CSAH 42/TH 52
interchange, and with anticipated land use development in the vicinity of
this interchange. 2025 traffic levels have been projected to help assess
future roadway deficiencies and needs for the overall City. Recommended
roadway improvement projects have been identified over the 20-year
planning timeframe, organized into five year increments. The plan a
discusses and identifies access management and right-of-way guidelines G.
proposed for the City. Recently, the City has directed WSB to perform a
detailed transit study which will be referenced into the Transportation Plan.
Kim Lindquist
Community Development Director
City of Rosemount
651-423-4410
kim.lindquist@ci.rosemount.mn.us
LANDFORM
