Case #t 1: Adopt 2005 5-Year Strategic Goals and 2005 Workplan and Objectives <br /> <br />A:;sismnt City Administrator Nelson indicated this case was originally presented on April 12, <br />2005; however, there were some questions by Council. <br /> <br />(.~ounciimcmber Strommen noted the action steps are now referenced in Goal No. 2 as an <br />attached document. <br /> <br />M,~tion by Conncilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt the 2005 5-Year <br />Strategic Goals and 2005 Work Plan and Objectives. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Cook, Olson, <br />['carson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Award Bids for 2005 Public Works Campus Improvements <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler reviewed that on December 14, 2004, the City Council passed <br />Resolution No. 04-12-375 authorizing the solicitation of bids for re-siding the existing metal <br />building at the Public Works campus and for the purchase of a temporary office building for the <br />Public Works campus; combined cost not to exceed $250,000.00. Bids were opened on April 14, <br />2005. Thc low bid received on the metal building re-siding was from Structural Buildings in the <br />amount o[' $163,063.00. One bid was received on the temporary office building from GE Capitol <br />in d~e amount of $79,956.10. He indicated staff visited the building at the Anoka County Airport <br />and thought the quality was very good. Staff recommends adoption of the proposed resolutions <br />and awarding the re-siding bid to low bidder, Structural Buildings, Inc., in the amount of <br />$163,063.00, and awarding the bid for the temporary office building to the respective low bidder <br />Gt~ Capitol in thc amount of $79,956.10. He noted the combination of these two bids is well <br />~.mder thc estimate for this project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Resolutions 05- <br />0~4~113 ~md 05~04-114 awarding re-siding and temporary office building projects to the <br />respective low bidders o~' Structural Buildings in the amount of $163,063.00 and GE Capitol in <br />the amount o1'$79,956.10. <br /> <br />i:urther discussion: Councilmember Elvig stated he agrees that the siding material will look very <br />ni:;c, l-lc noted one of the bids came in higher than budget, but the other came in lower and the <br />im)jcct w~s still on budget. <br /> <br />'vlod~m carried.
