lb) Anthorize Present Environmental Policy Task Force Members to Serve through a <br /> Transition Period <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook indicated the recommendation of the Personnel Committee is to authorize <br />the pre:~ent members of the Environmental Policy Task Force to continue serving through June <br />i~. lie explained the Environmental Policy Task Force is in the final process of completing a <br />wetland-buffering ordinance, which is on the Planning Commission agenda next week, and will <br />then come before the City Council. There is also an Environmental Task Force scheduled for <br />May 5th. The Personnel Committee recommends that the members of the present Task Force be <br />involved in the next month of planning and development of the ordinance and assist in the <br />transition period to the new Board. <br /> <br />2) Authorization to Hire a Patrol Officer <br /> <br />'l'ablcd to thc next City Council meeting. <br /> <br />3) Accept Resignation of a Community Service Officer and Grant Authorization to <br /> itire a Community Service Officer <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated the Community Service Officer, Daniel <br />Godlewski, resigned from his position effective April 19, 2005, Staff is recommending that Mr. <br />G,~dlewski's resignation be accepted. Staff further recommends that the City Council grant <br />at~thorization to him Christopher Curtis from the existing eligibility list. With Council approval <br />Mt'. Curtis would begin employment on May 9, 2005. The Personnel Committee recommended <br />that the Council grant the requested authorization. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated she appreciates the Committee's consideration for continuity <br />~1' thc Task Force in finishing up the wetland buffer ordinance. This will provide the new <br />members with a transition period and provide the Task Force members with finalization on the <br />completed project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated there were ten applicants interviewed to serve on the Board, and <br />d~ey were all exceptional interViews. The Board that was completed with these seven members <br />wi 11 bc very diverse in understanding and background, and will serve the City well. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked if the description of this Board includes a requirement that one member <br />~hould be f?om the Park Board. <br /> <br />(;(;uncilmember Cook replied this was discussed with the forming of the Task Force, and the <br />~tesirc wats to have one member from the Park Board and one member from Planning and Zoning. <br />Planning and Zoning declined that request.
