Jan Pomeroy, representative of Mediation Services, stated her passion is youth. The part that <br />interests her and keeps her involved in mediation services is the peer mediation program located <br />in the elementary schools. This program helps train kids on how to deal with conflict. It is a <br />valuable program that helps their community. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec thanked Ms. Pomeroy for her work with Youth First. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Ken Thomas, 17655 Argon Street, stated he would like to schedule a time for local residents in <br />the area of the Shade Tree development to discuss the development with the Council, as none of <br />the residents know anything about the cluster housing being proposed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig said he represents Mr. Thomas' ward and would be happy to meet with the <br />residents. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Strommen and Cook explained they are Councilmembers at Large, and would <br />meet with the residents as well. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted the addition of Item # 12 to the Consent Agenda: HS & <br />Associates~ Inc. Transportation Costs for Loudi, China Trip. He indicated during <br />Mayor/Council/Staff Input he will discuss the charter amendment process and a task force for the <br />new sister city relationship with Loudi, China. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to approve the agenda as <br />amended. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig inquired about the nonrefundable costs outlined in Consent Agenda Item <br />#12. <br /> <br />Vern Hegg, representative of HS & Associates, explained the costs are nonrefundable once an <br />individual signs up for the trip to Loudi, China. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated she is not clear on what the Council is being asked to approve. <br /> <br />The motion on the floor was amended to move Item #12 on the Consent Agenda: HS & <br />Associates, l~nc. Transportation Costs for Loudi, China Trip, to the Mayor/Council Input portion <br />of the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Jeffrey, Elvig, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen.
