Chairper~son Nixt stated this is a perfect example of looking at how they can achieve density and <br />have flexibility. He indicated he would be open to having more density in the center of the <br />development if they could eliminate the challenge of the narrow portion and triangular roads. <br /> <br />Commis:4ioner Van Scoy asked if this would match up with Town Center Gardens without any <br /> <br />ISSll~S. <br /> <br />Commu:fity Development Director Trudgeon indicated it should" match up, as it did with <br />Pincview Estates. He stated they will look at all the areas to be sure. He noted there are some 2 <br />!A acre t,)ts where they can do commercial on the back of them that they need to be conscious of, <br />and s~)mc liberties have been taken with the road connections as well. <br /> <br />C )mm issioner Johnson questioned the road on the east side of the development. <br /> <br />Commmfity Development Director Trudgeon noted there has been some talk about connecting to <br />149m, He stated the streets within the development are shown as private streets, however on the <br />C~raprehensive Plan they have a major arterial connection to 149th as a State Aid street. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson commented that he cannot imagine that they would want to put a road on <br />i:cont and back of those houses, especially at the price points they discussed. <br /> <br />l:c!?s indicated the connection with that road is something they need to study, but they are <br /> enough along. <br /> <br />(~'ommissioner Johnson asked that it be noted as a potential problem so it is not forgotten as this <br />moves aMng. <br /> <br />Moti{)n by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy to approve the sketch <br />plan oE Ram. sey Town Center 8th Addition contingent upon compllance with City Staff. Absent: Commissioner Brauer. <br /> <br />Case <br /> <br />Request for Preliminary Site Plan Review of Ramsey Municipal Parking <br />Facility; Case of City of Ramsey <br /> <br />~.~ommunity Development Director Trudgeon advised that the City of Ramsey is proposing to <br />,.tevel(;p it 1Star-story, 800 stall parking structure in the core of the Ramsey Town Center. He <br />:;t~tc¢t tl~c parking structure is proposed to be built in two phases, with the first phase occurring in <br />2005 with the construction of' 630 stalls. He indicated.the second phase will occur, in 2009 and is <br />9roposcd to construct an additional 210 stalls. He stated the parking structure will serve the <br />parking needs [bt the Town Center core, the adjacent Ramsey Municipal Center, and present and <br />t'LltLtrc mmsit services.
