(!olnmissioncr Johnsol~ stated that stating the purpose of an ordinance is always good, but he sees <br />5~tbd 2 as Stall' direction versus the necessity of writing an ordinance to say what the City is <br />?.ting to ¢1~. <br /> <br />stated it gets back to the basis of functions and values. <br /> <br />(_'omn]issioncr Johnson agreed, but stated that he would prefer to direct Staff to develop <br />classifications that can be put in the ordinance, not provide that direction in the ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. (;ord,m stated this is also a trigger. He indicated if there is a classification that gets outdated <br />~his is a trigger to update it. <br /> <br />¢'hait'pcrson Nixt commented that if it stays he would consider some language changes from <br />shall to may, etc. He indicated he does not want to get into the position of the City not <br />c()m plying with its own ordinance. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson asked if this has been sent to Chris Lord at the Soil and Water <br />C.()nscrvatJon District. <br /> <br />Staff indicated it has been sent to them, but not specifically to Chris Lord. He indicated it was <br />scni t~ their wetland specialist, and he was unsure if comments had been received. <br /> <br />C,.m~missir>ner Johnson suggested that Staff solicit comments from the Soil and Water <br />Ccmserwtlion District staff.
