.l~m Pomeroy, representative of Mediation Services, stated her passion is youth. The part that <br />it~lcrcsts her and keeps her involved in mediation services is the peer mediation program located <br />it~ lhc elementary schools. This program helps train kids on how to deal with conflict. It is a <br />w~luablc program that helps their community. <br /> <br />Mayor ( iamec thanked Ms. Pomeroy for her work with Youth First. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />[<ken Thomas, 17655 Argon Street, stated he would like to schedule a time for local residents in <br />thc area of thc Shade Tree development to discuss the development with the Council, as none of <br />thc residents know anything about the cluster housing being proposed. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Elvig said he represents Mr. Thomas' ward and would be happy to meet with the <br />rcsMcnts. <br /> <br />Councihncmbers Strommen and Cook explained they are Councilmembers at Large, and would <br />mcel wilh thc residents as well. <br /> <br />APPI-IOVE AGENDA <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted, the addition of Item #12 to the Consent Agenda: HS & <br />Associates, Inc. Transportation Costs for Loudi, China Trip. He indicated during <br />Mayor/(k)unciN/Staff Input he will discuss the charter amendment process and a task force for the <br />new :d.~;tcr city relationship with Loudi, China. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to approve the agenda as <br />amcndc(I. <br /> <br />Counciimc~nbcr Elvig inquired about the nonrefundable costs outlined in Consent Agenda Item <br />-!~12. <br /> <br />Vern l lcgg, representative of HS & Associates, explained the costs are nonrefundable once an <br />individual signs up for the trip to Loudi, China. <br /> <br />Cc)unci hncmbcr Strommen stated she is not clear on what the Council is being asked to approve. <br /> <br />Thc motion on thc floor was amended to move Item #12 on the Consent Agenda: HS & <br />Associates, Inc. Transportation Costs for Loudi, China Trip, to the Mayor/Council Input portion <br />of'thc meeting. <br /> <br />Motian carricd.
