<br />th <br />5.01: Request for Street Light at the Corner of Alpaca St and 166 Ave <br /> <br />Public Works Superintendent Riemer reviewed the staff report and stated that staff agrees with the <br />petition and would recommend installing the light at the intersection. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Menth, to approve the installation <br />th <br />of the street light at the intersection of Alpaca St/166 Avenue. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Kuzma, Councilmembers Riley and Menth. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />th <br />5.02: Request to Upgrade Street Light at the Corner of 144 Lane and Tungsten Way <br /> <br />Public Works Superintendent Riemer reviewed the staff report and recommendation not to upgrade <br />to an LED fixture at this time and let Connexus Energy decide when replacement is required. <br />Councilmember Menth asked if there was a timeline provided by Connexus. <br /> <br />Public Works Superintendent Riemer replied that Connexus replaces the fixtures on their <br />maintenance schedule/when it needs replacement. He stated that it could be one year or five years. <br />He noted that the resident was in agreement with that information. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Menth, to recommend that the <br />City Council not upgrade to an LED fixture at this time and let Connexus Energy decide when <br />replacement is required. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Kuzma, Councilmembers Riley and Menth. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />5.03: Consider Recommendation to City Council Authorizing Requests for Quotes for <br /> <br /> <br />City Engineer Westby reviewed the staff report and recommendation to recommend City Council <br />authorization to solicit Request for Quotes from qualified consultants to comply with the <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Riley asked if most of the information would be the same for each city. He asked <br />if perhaps cities could work together to develop some of the shared information. <br /> <br />City Engineer Westby stated that could be an option but that would take additional time. He <br />reviewed the work that staff is currently working on and did not believe that staff would have <br />additional time for this project. He hoped that a reasonable quote would be obtained for this work <br />so Staff could continue to focus on their primary work duties. He stated that if a reasonable quote <br />is not received, staff could contact other cities and work to complete the required plans in-house. <br />He stated he was not sure how much time it would take to prepare the required plans, and noted <br />that the plans must be updated every five years after initial approval. <br />Public Works Committee / October 20, 2020 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />
