Staff would like to clean up code to make the language more
clearer. Staff is proposing to change the front yard setback to 0-25 feet across the board,
with the setback being measured from the front building edge to either the sidewalk, edge
o(' the right-of-way, or the back of curb, whichever is appropriate.

Thc Planning Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the proposed ordinance at
their April 21, 2005 meeting. The Commission recommended approval of the proposed
ordinance.

On April 26, 2005, the City Council tabled action on the proposed ordinance until a work
session could be held to discuss the matter in further detail. At the May 31, 2005 work
session, the Council discussed the proposed ordinance in detail and generally felt that it
was acceptable as long as it just applied to the Ramsey Town Center.

Staff Recommendation:

" n
Stall recomme ds approval of the proposed ordinance.

City Council Action:

Motion to introduce Ordinance #05-__ amending driveway length and front yard setback
regulations in the Town Center Zoning District.

Rcvicw Checklist:
Assistant Community Development Director/HRA Director

CC: 06/14/05
